<aside> 👋 This is a step-by-step guide on how to create a bounty (aka “fund an issue”) on Gitcoin’s Issue Explorer.

Follow these steps when you want to post a bounty that is not related to a hackathon you are currently participating in.

Here’s what you’ll need:

• Access to your organization’s Github repository
• An account on Gitcoin (and to be added as a member of your org’s Tribe)
• The Funder’s wallet address (the wallet that will be used to pay bounties)
• Metamask Chrome Extension with access to the Funder’s wallet (you’ll need this later when handling bounty payouts on the platform)

Step 1: Create a Github Issue in your org’s repository.

• Go to your organization’s Github repository and navigate to “Issues” > “New Issue”.

• In the Title field on the Github issue, write the title of your bounty.

• In the issue’s Description field, copy-paste the template linked here:

• Next, fill out the information under each heading (###), deleting the “[comment]” prompt when you’re done.

• When you’re finished, click “Submit New Issue” and keep the Github issue URL handy.

Step 2: Post Your Bounties to the Issue Explorer

• Navigate to the “Fund Issue” page, or follow this link here: (https://gitcoin.co/bounty/new)
• Select the chain you’ll be using to pay out the prizes. Pick Ethereum for ETH or any ERC20’s, or choose another chain in the list of available ones.
• Paste the URL for your prize’s Github issue under “Github Issue URL”, then fill out the rest of the form - we recommend choosing “Permissionless”.
• The funder address should be the address you will eventually pay out from.
  • Note: When you’re setting up a bounty you become the “bounty owner”. You will be the only person that can pay out the winners on the respective bounty. Thus, please make sure that you have access to a wallet that has, or can get, the necessary funding.
• When you’re finished, click “Fund Issue” and your bounty will be posted to the Issue Explorer
