Ideas/Inspiration

Request for Proposal (RFP) app RFPs are a key tactic that DAOs use to invest in the growth of their ecosystem. Building a product that enables the management of RFPs on Allo addresses the growing demand for transparent and efficient resource allocation, making it easier for users to source project ideas and collaborate on funding decisions. This feature is pivotal in fostering community engagement, as it streamlines the process of soliciting, evaluating, and selecting proposals, ensuring that the Allo ecosystem remains dynamic and responsive to the diverse needs and innovative ideas of its users. https://www.notion.so/gitcoin/Inspiration-for-builders-dc30da5f05964bdb948b22aba324d4a2
Quadratic Voting (QV) app While Quadratic Funding (QF) has proven to be an effective capital allocation mechanism for many communities, not every decision calls for donation voting. A clean QV tool on Allo will greatly expand the palette of decision-making options available for DAOs.
Prop House on Allo Prop House has been a pillar of the Nouns ecosystem and has been reproduced across web3. Bringing this style of community decision-making into the Allo ecosystem will allow a broader set of users to take advantage of the technique, while also enabling proposers to build reputation across all of the communities they engage with.
Grants Liquidity/Volume Dashboard A vital enhancement to the Allo ecosystem would be introducing comprehensive transparency and performance reporting for all grants programs, projects, and donors utilizing the protocol. The idea here is a UI that provides users with valuable data and metrics, including program velocity and fund distribution, enabling informed decision-making and fostering accountability. This development aligns with Allo's mission to empower communities and individuals with the tools they need to make data-driven decisions and maximize the effectiveness of resource allocation within the ecosystem.
KYC tool KYC is a key obstacle for operating a successful, compliant grants program. Building a tool that simplifies and automates the KYC process by leveraging the Allo registry would empowers program managers to meet their regulatory obligations effortlessly, reducing friction in resource allocation and enhancing transparency within the Allo ecosystem.
Easy Airdrop A user-friendly tool for targeted airdrop campaigns, using reputation data from the Allo registry, would empower communities to select individuals based on specific criteria, such as their contributions to Gitcoin or participation in particular projects, and efficiently distribute airdrops to these recipients. This would be a vital tool, promoting community engagement and incentivizing active participation within the Allo ecosystem while maintaining flexibility and control over airdrop campaigns.
Artful QF A web app tailored to art galleries, this would allow gallery visitors to engage in a unique and decentralized voting system by scanning QR codes associated with artworks to cast their votes. These votes are then factored into the quadratic allocation of resources, creating an interactive and engaging way for art enthusiasts to support their favorite pieces.
Allo2Events Expand the horizons of Allo Protocol by transforming it into a versatile ticketing platform with a custom strategy. This would offer users the opportunity to purchase event tickets while simultaneously casting votes for their preferred artists or performers. The implementation of bonding curves adds an exciting dimension, allowing for dynamic early-bird incentives. This development would open new avenues for event organizers and artists to engage with their audiences.
Pokemon ECO Modeled on Pokemon Go, this concept would drive positive real-world actions by gamifying environmental cleanup efforts. This app or game would designed to incentivize individuals and communities to participate in plastic cleanup activities, either via group activities or individual bounties.
Analyst Dashboard Aggregation This idea would address the challenge of siloed dashboards and the fair compensation of analytics in the Web3 ecosystem. The concept is a user-friendly interface where analysts can stake GTC to submit their work, creating a decentralized marketplace for data analytics. Dashboards that receive upvotes are rewarded through a quadratic funding mechanism, ensuring that valuable analytics work is fairly compensated and accessible as a public good. This would not only promotes transparency and fairness in the analytics space but also leverage Allo for incentivizing the creation of new public goods.
Allo crowdfund Bring Allo Protocol into the local sphere by offering a user-friendly web application that empowers communities to collaboratively fund and support local projects, fostering a sense of ownership and engagement. With the ability to create, vote on, and allocate funding to projects that directly impact their neighborhoods, this would transform how local communities make decisions and manage resources, aligning with Allo's mission to bring decentralized resource allocation to diverse settings and empower individuals to shape their surroundings.
Local bounties Empower community members to propose and participate in local initiatives, strengthening local bonds and enabling targeted investment in key environments. The idea here is a simple webapp to create a pool of initiatives in local communities. These could be tree-trimming, snow-shoveling, clean-up the environment, other smaller tasks that keep the community thriving. People in these communities can do these tasks, register it as done with before-after photos and receive allocation based on votes. Completed tasks could be shown in a feed and people simply like to vote. Tasks could be explored from a map.
Dominance assurance contracts More details on this concept can be found here.
Quadratic Funding rewarding donors This strategy would reward a percentage from the matching pool to the top donors (total donations across projects). This could create incentives to participate as well as use one address to vote with (some kind of sybil discouragement).
Cookie Jar Grants basically you define a list of people/projects upfront (say, with hats protocol or allo). then anyone on that list can withdraw from a pool of capital (the cookie jar) every x days as long as they self-report what they've been doing to earn it. optionally a round admin can cut people off from the cookie jar if they abuse it. in use at build guild
**Profile Teleporter
(registry registry?)** The core concept is a user-friendly interface for fetching profile data from one chain and seamlessly recreating identical profiles on another chain, which would simplify the process of replicating user profiles and community data across different blockchain networks. This feature would not only improve user convenience and data portability but also contribute to Allo's adaptability and inclusivity, allowing users to engage with the protocol on their preferred blockchain networks without the hassle of starting from scratch.
Hypercerts integration Our friends at Protocol Labs have been developing Hypercerts, an open source protocol for funding and rewarding positive impact. We’d love to see an integration that brings Hypercerts into the Allo profile reputation ecosystem.
Contribution-based vote weighting “Everyone contributor opinion matters weighted by the magnitude of their contribution and scaled by their mastery over the given domain
